Jesus!  For believers, each year, Easter Sunday is a very special day. images[10] It is Jesus’ Resurrection Day. We celebrate His life, death, and resurrection!

Many people think that Easter is about Easter egg hunts, the Easter bunny, chocolate candy, and toys, but for a Christian, that’s not what Easter is about.

The true Easter story begins with the story of Christmas. The Christmas story tells how God sent Jesus to this world as a baby. Jesus was not only a man, but also God in human form.  While all other men and women have sinned since the fall of man and women in the Garden of Eden, Jesus never sinned.  imagesJ6RBRRA0We sin when  do, say, and think things that displease the Holy God. Because of our sin, we deserve to spend eternity apart from God. But, because God loves us, God sent Jesus to give us a way to spend eternity in heaven with Him.  Since Jesus didn’t sin, He did not deserve to die.  He lived the life we were meant to live and He willingly died the death we deserve. Three days later, God brought Jesus back to life. If we believe and trust in Jesus to forgive us from our sins, we receive enternal life.  Jesus is the only way to eternal life!  While we live, Jesus promises us the Holy Spirit to help us here on earth!  For Christians, Easter is the time when we remember what Jesus did for us – He died for our sins, was resurrected by God, ascended to heaven and is now waiting for us in heaven!

John 3:16-17 “For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him.”

John 14:6  “Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Luke 24:34 “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

1 Peter 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”

1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed”
